Treadmill Tuesday

Today we will be simulating that point in a race where you need to find that EXTRA GEAR while under fatigue.  For this workout we are going to train muscular endurance on some hills. Once we hit the summit, its time to kick in Up-Tempo and take it to the finish line.

Warm up 1 Mile building to a solid Z2 Pace at 1% Incline

1 Mile at 2%

.75 Mile at 3%

.5 Mile at 4%

.25 Mile at 5%

.5 Mile at 4%

.75 Mile at 3%....increase speed by a 3-5 tenths

1 Mile at 2%...bump that speed at least 2 tenths

1 Mile at 1%...Finishing at upper Z3 or Low Z4

Walk to CD

This is a great workout to train your brain under circumstances as such.  Picture yourself in that last section of a race, hawking down your competition...knowing that they are fatiguing faster then you.  Knowing that you do HAVE that Extra Gear.
